Common
questions.
If your question is not here, call or text us on 0474 573 199.
What age is FSLT suitable for?
Six years and up. Younger groups work well for private mobile sessions where the game master can adjust scenarios and intensity to suit. Contact us with your group and we can advise.
Do I need to bring any gear?
Nothing. All gear is provided on arrival. Gun, headband sensor, dog tag. Wear clothes you can move in and closed-toe shoes. Dark or camouflage clothing helps but is not required.
What gear does FSLT actually run?
We run Netronic equipment, an industry-leading outdoor laser tag platform. Real recoil on guns, sniper rifles, heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades. On top of that we add our own custom field props, scoring and progression hardware: the dog tags, tokens, scope upgrades and the scenario logic.
How long does a session run?
Standard field sessions run for one hour of active play, with 4 to 5 games in that time. Longer sessions are available on request. Allow extra time at each end for gear issue, briefing and packdown. For mobile events the total time on site is agreed at booking.
Are groups ever mixed with other bookings?
No. Your booking gets the field to itself. We do not mix separate groups during a session.
What are the two venues and how do I choose?
Fadden Pines is a dense pine forest on the southside. Tight sightlines, lots of cover, good for close-quarters play. Cottermouth is open tiered terrain west of Weston Creek. More movement, flanking routes, a harder challenge. Each Saturday runs at one venue only, alternating between the two. If both dates work for you, pick based on which terrain sounds more appealing.
Can I book a private session at a field venue?
Yes. If you want to lock out a session for your group only with no shared bookings, contact us and we can arrange it. Pricing is different from a standard per-head field booking.
How does mobile and custom hire work?
We bring the full setup to your location. Guns, sensors, inflatable cover, game master and scenarios. You supply the space. Any group size, any day. We operate within about 60km of central Canberra. Use the enquiry form for a quote.
Is there a minimum group size for mobile hire?
No hard minimum. We are flexible on group size. Pricing scales with what you are running. Tell us your situation and we will quote accordingly.
What is the service radius for mobile events?
Roughly 60km from central Canberra as a standard. Outside that radius, contact us. We have done longer hauls for the right event.
What are special events?
FSLT runs themed events through the year: Fright Night, Winter Wonderland, school holiday programs and others. These are public events you can book into. Each one is one-of-a-kind, with custom scenarios, themed setups and unique venues. Check the Special Events page for what is coming up.
Do you cater for participants with additional needs?
Yes. Recoil can be disabled on individual guns, sound levels can be adjusted, and game modes can be modified. If your group includes participants with additional needs, let us know when you book and we will work out the right setup.
What are dog tags and FSLT tokens?
Dog tags are collectibles earned during play. Different designs, different colours. Winnable from opponents in certain game modes. FSLT tokens are also earned during sessions and redeemable at your next event for a scope attachment on your gun.
What is a scope attachment?
A modular scope that clips onto the standard gun. It extends your effective range. Redeemed with FSLT tokens at the start of a session and returned at the end. It is an actual advantage, not cosmetic.
Do the guns have recoil?
Yes. The Netronic guns have genuine physical recoil when fired. Not vibration. Actual kick. Adds the feedback that flat laser tag gear is missing.
Can I use grenades or heavy weapons?
Yes. Depending on the scenario, players can access grenades, rocket launchers, heavy machine guns and sniper rifles in addition to standard guns. The game master decides which weapons are in play for each round.
Are smoke grenades available?
Yes at Cottermouth. The more open terrain and remote location allows it. Not currently available at Fadden Pines due to fire risk proximity.
Can we drink at the venue?
At Cottermouth, yes. BYO is allowed between rounds and after the session, with the standard rules: no playing while intoxicated, game master has final say. At Fadden Pines no, because it is a public park and alcohol is not permitted on site.
Do you run night sessions?
Yes at Cottermouth, on request. Night sessions add 1 to 2 hours onto a standard slot. Headlamps and tracer-style indicators make it a very different game from daytime play. Available as an add-on when booking your field session or as part of a custom booking. Not currently offered at Fadden Pines.
Is FSLT suitable for corporate team days?
Yes. Scenario-based games with defined team roles translate well to corporate groups. We can run a session at a field venue or bring the setup to your site. Use the custom bookings enquiry form to get a quote.
Can schools or youth groups book?
Yes. We have run sessions for school groups and holiday programs. Game modes and intensity can be adjusted to suit the age group. Contact us with your group details.
What do I wear?
Clothes you can run, crouch and crawl in. Closed-toe shoes are required. Dark or camouflage clothing is recommended but not mandatory. Sunscreen for outdoor sessions.
What if the weather is bad?
Sessions run in most weather. Light rain is usually completely fine to play in — the equipment has no issues operating in wet conditions. If the weather is particularly bad on the day, we have indoor backup options available, so bookings are not simply cancelled due to rain. If conditions are severe enough that no option works, we contact you directly and reschedule at no cost.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellations within 7 days of the session receive a 50% refund. Within 72 hours of the session, cancellations are non-refundable. If conditions are unsafe we can relocate to a suitable indoor venue rather than cancel. If we do have to cancel, you receive a full refund.
What facilities are available at the venues?
Both Fadden Pines and Cottermouth have toilets on site. Fadden Pines is located at a public park and also has BBQ facilities and picnic tables nearby. Convenient for birthday groups who want to eat after the session. Cottermouth is a more remote site focused on play.
